Overview of Honda Accord

The Honda Accord series of cars has been manufactured by Honda since 1976 and is available in a variety of configurations including coupes, wagons, hatchbacks, sedans, and a crossover. The Accord became the first car from a Japanese manufacturer to be produced in the United States in 1982, and it has achieved notable success both in the US and abroad thanks to its reputation as a family vehicle with efficient gas mileage, high safety ratings, and affordable pricing.

Intro to CVCC Technology

To comply with emission regulations in Japan, the Accord engine was fitted with Honda’s CVCC technology. The CVCC is a Honda trademark that stands for Compound Vortex Controlled Combustion, and it allows for reduced automotive emissions. This made the Accord extremely popular due to the great gas mileage.

4th Generation Evolution

The fourth generation Accord was released in 1989 for the 1990 model year, and in addition to being larger, the sedan’s style was evolutionary for the Honda brand. It included the same low-slung design and wraparound rear window as its predecessor, but it was the first model to not include a hatchback. This was also one of the first U.S. produced cars to include optic reflectors with completely clear lenses on the headlamps, and it included significant engineering design improvements. The Accords sold in America come standard with new all aluminum 2.2 liter 16 valve electronic fuel injected engines, as well as automatic transmissions using an electronically controlled rear engine mount to reduce low frequency noise and vibration. The Accord is one of the best selling cars in the United States. Check out our available models below.
